Tanya Manalang began performing professionally at the age of 8 where she was part of the original cast of Trumpets’ 1997 musical adaptation of CS Lewis’ The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. She has then appeared as a guest performer for several awards shows such as FAMAS Awards, the KBP Golden Dove Awards, and the Aliw Awards. Before reaching her teens, Tanya recorded a jingle for Abbott Laboratories’s Vidaylin TVC and has been featured as a guest performer alongside singers Gary Valenciano, Lani Misalucha, Regine Velasquez, and Pops Fernandez in their respective concerts. During her college years, she would occassionally appear as a back-up singer for international artist David Pomeranz in his local concert tours. After successfully completing her tertiary education, she went back to performing full-on by joining the cast of Resorts World Manila’s KAOS, the first production to be staged at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. Her most notable performance to date was in Cameron Mackintosh’s 2014-2016 West End Production of Miss Saigon where she played the role of Kim. Prior to her 2-year Miss Saigon stint in the UK, she was also granted a scholarship by Cameron Mackintosh to train in musical theater at the prestigious Arts Educational Schools in London after making it through the production’s months-long audition process in Manila.
